In Lesson 2 of the tutorial after I deploy the cube, when I enter the cube browser and try to drag and drop the "Sales Amount" measure into the data pane, I get the error:
The query could not be processed:
o Memory error: While attempting to store a string, a string was found that was larger than the page size selected. The operation cannot be completed.I get this error no matter what measure I try to drop into the data pane.
Anyone have a suggestion?I am getting the exact same error and have found no solution. I do suspect however, that it may have to do with numbers formatting in different cultures. I have tried to play around with changing collation on the databases, as well as changing my machine's regional settings, but no success yet.
SalesAmount uses the Money datatype, and the generated XML reveals a translation to Double.
We would appreciate an answer from Microsoft on this, sooner rather than later please...|||
I also faced the same problem. First I thought I might be doing something wrong in the first 2 chapters. I did the tutorials from the begining again. I experienced the same problem again.
The query could not be processed:
o Memory error: While attempting to store a string, a string was found that was larger than the page size selected. The operation cannot be completed.
Now I am at the end of 3rd chapter. I am not able to see the result of the cube. I am stuck here.
Whether this will affect my cube design when I am using the cube in RS2005? Someone please give an answer to this thread.
Thanks,
|||I'm waiting too.
|||Where are you Microsoft? This seems like a nausty bug that should not appear in the final version. Untill then it stops me for developing in the September CTP. But need do do some more testing. Will notify this forum if any clue or workaround is found. I suspect I need to check the PTS (Pivot Table Services) as well since the cube was build without errors.
|||I have asked this in the private MVP Forums also, and the following answers have been tendered:
source of the tutorial). I'll post a response when I get it.

This is a known issue with the September CTP and it has been fixed in
post-CTP builds. The problem surfaces with client-side record sizes greater
than 1k, so a possible workaround might be to rework the cube structure to
reduce record sizes.

I have played with AdventureWorks-based AS projects in Sept CTP (not
following the tutorial really) and it worked fine. Maybe I was lucky and
sneaked in under the size limit.
